Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians and staff in a fast-paced podiatry office. You will welcome patients, prepare exam rooms, take vitals, document in EMR, and assist with minor in-office procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience, and proficiency with Microsoft 365. CMA/RMA certification is preferred; travel between local offices may be required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting).
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
