Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and patients in a fast-paced podiatry clinic. This role involves rooming patients, taking vitals, documenting in the EMR, and assisting with minor procedures and post-op care.

The candidate should have strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills, with the ability to travel between local office locations. CMA/RMA certification is preferred and Microsoft 365 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to travel between local office locations.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance
