Job summary

Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to join our clinic team in Albuquerque, NM. The role supports providers, handles basic history taking, vital signs, wound care, injections, and lab procedures while helping keep exam rooms ready and stocked.

Outreach work may be required in the Bernalillo County service area. Ideal candidates will have completed a Medical Assistant program and have experience in underserved populations, with bilingual

Qualifications

• Ability to thrive in a complex healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and anatomy.
• Experience documenting services in an electronic health record.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take basic medical history and vital signs.
• Assist providers in various procedures.
• Perform wound care, injections/immunization, and lab procedures - blood draws, specimen preparation and handling.
• Prepare and stock examination rooms.
• Participate in medical outreaches in the Bernalillo County service area.
