Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or current MA certification from a national body (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA).
• Excellent communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and communicate with Physicians to obtain prescription renewals as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Obtains vital signs, weights, and EKGs when needed, and assists with blood collection/phlebotomy as needed.
• Assist with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Ensures chart is available with lab work and test reports for the physician during visits.
• Stocks exam/treatment rooms with supplies and notifies if low.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment after use and assists with light housekeeping tasks.
• Assists with patient charges as per policy.
• Assists patients with meals, toileting, ambulation, and comfort.
• Assists physicians with procedures and patient care activities.
• Answers phones and schedules treatments.
