Job summary

MaineHealth's Primary Care team in North Conway, NH seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our busy Orthopedics practice. You will support clinicians, care for patients from newborns to seniors, and work in a collaborative environment focused on patient-centered care.

Qualified candidates may be eligible for sign-on bonuses; current MaineHealth members ineligible; per diem hires ineligible. This role is a 40-hour/week, full-time position.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED; options include 160 hours clinical Medical Assisting or 6 months clinical experience.
  • Current certification preferred: AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, NREMT; BLS required within 30 days.
  • NH licensure requirements for NH-based roles (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers in Orthopedics and Primary Care teams in patient care.
  • Support patients of all ages with compassionate, patient-centered care.

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants. 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time); 1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time). Bonus prorated for part‑time hires, per diem hires ineligible. Current MaineHealth members ineligible; former members ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Job Overview

Our Primary Care team in North Conway is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to join our busy Orthopedics practice. As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients of all ages—from newborns to older adults. You’ll work alongside a supportive team of providers and staff who value collaboration, compassion, and patient-centered care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  3. Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
