Job summary

Premier Health Family Care North is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) to support daily patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will see upwards of 30 patients per day and perform general clinical tasks under supervision of the Practice Manager and center Physicians.

Key duties include rooming patients, taking vitals, administering injections, performing EKGs and basic lab testing, wound care, dressing changes, hearing and vision screening, and documenting all activities with accuracy

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant credential
• Prior ambulatory care experience preferred
• CPR certification within first 3 months
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR preferred
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• HIPAA compliance awareness

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vitals.
• Administer injections and perform EKGs.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests and breathing treatments.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes and basic lab testing.
• Document care accurately in the EMR and maintain patient records.
• Support clinicians to achieve high-quality patient care and customer service.

Summary Of Position

A Certified Medical Assistant for the Premier Health Physician Enterprise will typically see upwards of 30 patients per day, and is responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care, under supervision of the Practice Manager and/or center Physicians/Providers. Our Certified Medical Assistants are an integral part of our offices, and are relied upon to assist in delivering the very best in Patient Experience. Every patient, every time.

Nature and Scope

Independently performed procedures may include, but is not limited to, rooming patients and collecting vitals, pulmonary function tests, administration of injections, EKGs, breathing treatments, lab testing, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests, and other duties as assigned. Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills will be an ongoing expectation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent certificate
• Qualified applicants must be a Certified Medical Assistant, and will have graduated from a recognized Medical Assistant program.
• Prior experience in ambulatory health care facility preferred
• Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians.
• Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards.
• CPR certified within the first 3 months of employment.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Familiarity with the EPIC EMR is strongly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
