Job summary

The Clinical Neuroscience Institute-MVHN in Dayton, OH, is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse for Neurology to support patient care under supervision.

Typical duties include rooming patients, taking vitals, injections, EKGs, pulmonary tests, basic labs, and accurate documentation in EPIC EMR; CPR within 3 months, HIPAA compliance, and a focus on excellent patient experience. Shift is FT, 80 hours per pay, on-site.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a CMA or LPN and graduate of a recognized program.
• Ambulatory health care experience preferred.
• Ability to learn center tasks and assist management and physicians.
• CPR certified within first 3 months; HIPAA compliant.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vitals for visits.
• Perform injections, EKGs, and basic pulmonary tests.
• Dressing changes, wound care, and routine lab testing.
• Accurate clinical documentation in the EMR system.
• Support physicians and center staff to ensure patient experience.

Summary of Position

A Certified Medical Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse for the Premier Physician Network will typically see upwards of 30 patients per day, and is responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care, under supervision of the Practice Manager and/or center Physicians/Providers.

Our Certified Medical Assistants/Licensed Practical Nurses are an integral part of our offices, and are relied upon to assist in delivering the very best in Patient Experience. Every patient, every time.

Nature and Scope

Independently performed procedures may include, but is not limited to, rooming patients and collecting vitals, pulmonary function tests, administration of injections, EKGs, breathing treatments, lab testing, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests, and other duties as assigned. Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills will be an ongoing expectation.

2. Qualified applicants must be a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and will have graduated from a recognized Medical Assistant or LPN program.
3. Prior experience in ambulatory health care facility preferred
4. Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians.
5. Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service
6. standards.
7. CPR certified within the first 3 months of employment.
8. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
9. Familiarity with the EPIC EMR is strongly preferred.
10. Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
