Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, MN is hiring for an ambulatory care position. You will assist RNs and physicians, delivering direct patient care across ages from newborn to elderly in a fast-paced setting.

Qualified candidates hold an LPN license (MN/WI) or CMA certification, with BCLS. Certification timelines vary and CMA apprentices must certify within six months of transfer. Working hours are 7:15–17:15 with day rotation.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Minnesota or Wisconsin, or CMA certification with certification within 1 year of hire.
• BCLS certification or able to obtain within 3 months.
• CMA apprentice must complete Medical Assistant Program and certify within 6 months of transfer.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated. Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in appropriate state, i.e. Minnesota, Wisconsin, OR current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR Verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire. (Must pass certification within two attempts), OR if Essentia Health trained CMA Apprentice must have completion of Medical Assistant Program and become certified within 6 months of transfer. (applicable to any CMA apprentice hired after 7/1/26)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.
