You will be helping our patients live well by:
- Preparing and rooming the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering, documenting, and updating pertinent health information (e.g., chief complaint, allergies, medications). Monitoring and completing Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures with notification to the clinician for opportunities within their scope.
- Performing laboratory procedures (e.g., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assisting the Physician/Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administering routine medications under Physician/APC orders or approved protocols, including immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Following through with necessary procedures, test requests, care algorithms, appointments, and referrals. Referring questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC as appropriate and relaying information to patients.
- Communicating effectively with the healthcare team to ensure smooth clinic flow and providing accurate, timely information to patients.
- Performing basic and advanced clinical support tasks based on specialty and competencies, such as suturing, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitoring, and prescription refills under supervision.
- Providing care appropriate to the patient's age, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles, and interpreting data to meet age-specific needs, as per departmental policies.
Licenses & Certifications:
LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Active license issued by the practicing state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 45 days unless exempted.
Medical Assistant:
- BLS certification from AHA within 45 days unless exempted.
Education and Degrees Required:
LPN: Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
Medical Assistant: GED or HS equivalency, plus completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or two years of verifiable full-time experience within the last five years.

- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Lift up to 35 pounds; use patient handling equipment and assistance for heavier lifts.
- Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine manipulation skills.
- Exposure to hazards such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids; use protective equipment as needed.
- Operate all necessary equipment.
