Medical Assistant or LPN Clinic Float - Primary Care

Job Summary

This role involves supporting primary care clinics through a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document health information.
  2. Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic techniques.
  3. Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries.
  4. Administer medications and manage IV therapy within scope of practice.
  5. Provide patient education and coordinate follow-up care.
  6. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and document patient information accurately.
  7. Perform advanced clinical tasks under supervision.
  8. Maintain and organize exam rooms and equipment.
  9. Participate in quality improvement activities.
  10. Provide care appropriate to patient age and developmental stage.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA (must be obtained within 45 days if not already certified).
  • Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  • No prior experience required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and positioning patients.
  • Exposure to hazards such as blood and body fluids, with appropriate protective measures.
