We are currently hiring for a Medical Assistant (MA) or Clinical Team Assistant, CNA at MaineHealth, Portland Primary Care!

For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Medical Assistants and Clinical Team Assistants:

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full-time) - MA
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full-time) - MA
  • Up to $2,500 sign-on bonus for Clinical Team Assistants

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a full or part-time MA position. Bonus amounts are prorated for part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth employees are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.

Our Family Medicine practice is looking for a Medical Assistant who is motivated, enjoys learning in a fast-paced environment, and is open to assisting with teaching our Resident providers. This role will support both our Peaks Island and Portland clinics.

Summary - Medical Assistant:
The Medical Assistant (MA) role involves duties related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment, promoting a smooth patient flow. The MA functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience; or completed an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice. Equivalent experience will be evaluated case-by-case.
  • License/Certifications: Current certification from AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. For positions in New Hampshire, NH Med Tech License or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license are required.
  • Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements: N/A

Summary - Clinical Team Assistant:
The Clinical Team Assistant performs daily patient service functions to support the clinical team. The role functions under the license of a provider when performing clinical and patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited health sciences program, or a student in a health science program with clinical experience, or completion of an MA or healthcare vocational program with a patient-facing component. Equivalent relevant clinical experience will be evaluated case-by-case.
  • License/Certifications: Current BLS certification within three months of hire required.
  • Experience: N/A
  • Additional Skills/Requirements: N/A
