What You Will Be Doing

As a member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant is responsible for positive patient relations, proper telephone communication, verification of patient information through interviews, and confirming the purpose of visits. The Medical Assistant also prepares patients for examinations by performing preliminary physical tests, taking vital signs, and reporting patient history summaries.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, take vital signs, review current medications, and record in medical records.
  • Assist with tracking and monitoring department-specific data.
  • Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice.
  • Manage patient care flow and monitor CS-Link message pools and standard work.
  • Set up exam/procedure rooms based on patient needs.
  • Sweep clinical areas to monitor inventory based on standard work.
  • Clean and re-process equipment and supplies as per guidelines.
  • Address concerns from patients, physicians, and staff, escalating as necessary.
  • Assist in QA measures, including recording QC testing on equipment.
  • Monitor workflow to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in daily huddles and staff meetings.
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program and/or Medical Assistant Certification from a Board-approved organization.
  • Graduate of an accredited X-Ray program preferred.
Experience
  • Two years of outpatient clinical/medical office experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or Red Cross required, valid within 60 days of hire.
  • Certification from a Board-approved Medical Assistant Organization preferred.
