Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute's Highland Office is seeking a medical assistant to support physicians with in-office procedures, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and lab testing. The ideal candidate has at least one year of MA experience, a high school diploma or GED, a valid Florida driver’s license for travel to clinics, and BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physician’s office with the ability to perform venipunctures.
• Valid Florida driver’s license is needed for travel to the clinics.
• High school diploma or GED is required and will be required to produce at time of hire.
• BLS required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment (FCS will provide BLS course within first 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with medical procedures in office.
• Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance.
