Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Outpatient Oncology & Infusion Center in Hartford, CT. You will support clinicians, prepare exam rooms, obtain vitals, and coordinate patient flow within a fast-paced oncology setting.

Role emphasizes accurate EMR documentation, infection prevention, and compassionate patient education for oncology and hematology patients and families. Previous MA experience in specialty clinics is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• National Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice, specialty clinic, oncology, infusion, or ambulatory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, infusion areas, and clinical supplies for patient visits.
• Room patients and obtain vital signs, health histories, medication lists, and allergy information.
• Assist physicians, APs, and nursing staff during patient visits and procedures.
• Coordinate patient flow to ensure a positive and efficient experience.
• Document clinical information accurately in the EMR.
• Process laboratory specimens and assist with diagnostic testing coordination.
• Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, referrals, and diagnostic services.
• Provide compassionate support and education to oncology and hematology patients and families.
• Answer patient calls, relay messages, and communicate effectively with providers and care teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and quality standards.

What You'll Bring
