Job summary

Virtua Health in Marlton, NJ is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support clinicians in patient examinations and care. You will obtain vital signs, assist with exams, perform phlebotomy, vaccines, and routine tests, and help manage room readiness and documentation.

The role requires 1-3 years in a medical office, a Medical Assistant credential, BLS, and a HS diploma. On-site, full-time position with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, and chief complaint, and preparing patient for provider exam.
• Prepares exam room as required based on chief complaint.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens for processing.
• Administers vaccines and completes required documentation.
• Performs diagnostic tests such as EKG, Pulmonary Function, etc., under supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls according to protocol; communicates with patients about prescriptions and test results.
• Performs daily regulatory testing as required and documents accordingly.
• Maintains par level of clinical supplies for facility.
• Performs front desk duties which may include registering patients, billing, and appointment scheduling.
