Job summary

Virtua Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinical providers in patient exams. The role includes preparing patients, taking vital signs, recording history, and assisting with phlebotomy and vaccines. You will also perform basic front desk tasks and coordinate with the care team.

The position requires a Medical Assistant certification, HS diploma, and BLS; experience in a medical office is preferred. On-site role with full-time hours and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.
• Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant; in DE state certification required within 1 year of hire.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and chief complaint; prepares exam room.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens for processing; administers vaccines and completes documentation; conducts diagnostic tests under physician supervision.
• Screens and directs patient calls; communicates prescriptions and test results as directed by physician.
• Performs daily regulatory testing and ensures equipment is accurate and compliant.
• Maintains par level of clinical supplies for facility.
• Performs front desk duties such as registering patients, billing, and appointment scheduling.
