Position: Medical Assistant - Clinic

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Provider, performs patient care services, assists the Provider and other medical staff with patient visits and procedures in a medical office or clinic setting. May also perform front desk duties, including telephone work, patient scheduling, and ordering supplies. If applicable, responsibilities include phlebotomy, such as blood, urine, pap smears, cultures, etc.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High School graduate or GED equivalent
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR current certification as a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant
• Six months of previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Current CPR certification (TB certification may be required in some offices)
• Basic understanding of medical documentation and terminology
• Organizational skills focused on patient care tracking and flow improvement
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and calmly in stressful situations
• Completion of annual skill validation, safety, and infection control procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, families, physicians, and staff
