Job summary

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year MA experience in clinical setting or MA program graduate.
• BLS from American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• BAT/DOT certifications within 90 days if in Occupational Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients, obtain vital signs and medication reconciliation.
• Collect patient medical history information and document in EHR.
• Navigate EPIC EMR and coordinate with pharmacies, insurers and physicians.
• Support providers with direct patient care and clinical procedures as assigned.

Experience must include direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting, such as obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures (e.g. EKG’s, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines).Or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required.Upon hire, all Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must successfully complete MA orientation. Those who do not meet the required standards will be enrolled in the Medical Assistant Trainee Program for further development and evaluation.Basic computer skills, experience with EMR System a plus.Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications for a Certified Medical Assistant:Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP.Or graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure.Upon hire, all Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must successfully complete MA orientation.
