Medical Assistant - OB/GYN (Cranberry Township, PA)

Job Overview

UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Greater Pittsburgh OB/GYN team in Cranberry Township, PA. Our high-volume women's health practice provides care to women of all ages across the Greater Pittsburgh area. The position involves travel within a 30-mile radius to support staffing needs. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional evening shifts until 6 or 7pm. No weekends or holidays are required. Responsibilities include both back office and front office duties. Prior Medical Assistant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Obtain and organize lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient charts.
  • Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments, maintain infection control, and manage supplies.
  • Organize patient flow, assist with patient mobility, collect patient information, and perform screenings.
  • Answer calls, provide patient education, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and assist with procedures.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance, confidentiality, and assist with administering medications and vaccines under supervision.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
Licensure and Certifications
  • CPR certification (AHA standards) within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR.
  • Act 31, 33, 34, and 73 clearances with renewal as applicable.
