Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) at MultiCare Health System works under the direction of a licensed practitioner, performing safe clinical skills within the MA-C scope and maintaining continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses and front office staff.

This role supports patient care, organizes patient flow, interviews patients, obtains vital signs, assists exams, collects specimens, and relays information to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C).
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Current BLS certification.

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:
  • Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
  • Interviewing patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
  • Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
  • Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
  • Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:
  • Sending and receiving of patient medical records
  • Facilitating patient referrals
  • Preparing forms for patients

Requirements

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Current BLS certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $26.29 - $37.91 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
