Job summary

Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC) at Brewer Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our Nurse Practitioner Residency team. You will support an NP Resident, assist in multiple specialties, and gain diverse clinical experience while helping shape the next generation of primary care providers.

The role offers a full-time schedule (Mon-Thu 7:00–5:30, Fridays and weekends off) with competitive compensation and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• MA training including all essential job functions or MA Certification.
• BLS needed within 2 weeks of hire.
• Initial and maintained certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care, treatments and clinical decisions.
• Conduct chart reviews, manage medication refills, and support pre-visit planning.
• Room patients, prepare exam spaces, administer meds and vaccines, draw blood.
• Process labs under provider direction.
• Support adherence to quality standards and clinic workflows.
