**This position will require up to 50% travel to other offices.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assists physicians and extenders in providing proper medical care for patients. May assist as receptionist if working in a physician practice setting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Rooms and interviews patients to obtain medical information and to measure their vital signs, weight, and height. Records information in the medical record.
  2. Helps physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing tasks such as giving injections.
  3. Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeps the room stocked and cleaned, reorders supplies, and disposes of biohazard waste.
  4. Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations as necessary.
  5. May collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing; administers injections.
  6. Utilizes EHR system to perform front-office duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High School / GED
  • At least 1 year in a direct patient care role, including vital signs. Experience should include clinical functions like injections, phlebotomy, EKGs.
  • CPR certification – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance
