Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Sulphur Springs, TX seeks a per diem Medical Office Assistant to support exam workflows, handle patient check-in, take calls, schedule tests, and obtain insurance authorizations.

You will assist with vital signs, manage medical records, ensure HIPAA compliance, and keep treatment rooms ready. Travel to other clinic locations as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma and at least 1 year of medical office experience; BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in examination, treatment, and care of patients.
• Answers phones, makes appointments, and obtains insurance authorizations for tests/surgeries.
• Maintains cleanliness of exam rooms and instruments; follows infection control and OSHA.
• Documents incidents and ensures patient information is scanned for complete medical records.
• Transports patients as needed and performs administrative duties (filing, scheduling, verification).
• Travels to various clinical locations as necessary.
