Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team. This is a 1.0 FTE position (80 hours per two-week pay period) with benefits-eligible opening. Clinic Hours: Mon–Thu 7:00 AM–6:00 PM and Fri 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, NO WEEKENDS.

Eligible for up to a $2,000 New Hire Sign On Bonus! The MA supports quality patient- and family-centered care by performing high-level functions within the care team, including vaccine administration, phlebotomy, injections,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN Program is required.
• Non-Certified Applicants with less than six (6) months of Medical Assistant experience must have graduated from an accredited school with a clinical externship
• Basic Life Support Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN, to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
• Follows the patient’s plan of care.
• Prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, patient/family preferences, provider schedule, in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner and other health care team members.
• Performs high and low risk technical procedures defined by the clinical setting includes medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures and may include lab draws.
• Documents care in the medical record.
