Henry Ford Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Neurology department. This part-time position involves providing essential support in a clinical environment, from patient interaction to assisting with examinations. Ideal candidates should be graduates of medical assistant programs or possess relevant experience in clinical settings. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Neurologists specialize in non-surgical treatment of disorders that affect the brain, spine and nervous system. Henry Ford Neurology - Jackson offers neurological evaluation, treatment and follow-up to our patients.
Our comprehensive and integrated services address a range of neurological conditions, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, chronic migraine and other headache disorders, infections of the brain and peripheral nervous system, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease, seizure disorders, such as epilepsy, speech and language disorders, and spinal cord disorders.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. These duties may include but are not limited to:
SHIFT DETAILS: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
LOCATION: 1201 E. Michigan Ave Ste 240 Jackson, MI 49201
STATUS: Part Time, 40 hours per week
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Additional Requirements:
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.
OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting.
OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.
