Job summary

NYU Langone Health in Brooklyn is seeking a Medical Assistant (FGP) for the Multispecialty Surgery team to support physicians and nurses in patient care, perform vital signs, phlebotomy, EPIC documentation and lab sample handling.

The role includes administrative duties such as scheduling, phone calls, data entry, and ensuring HIPAA privacy while maintaining patient flow and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred or obtained on hire.
• Working knowledge of English in verbal, reading and writing abilities.
• Ability to use computers and electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare rooms for examination.
• Measure and record vital signs, draw blood, and collect lab samples.
• Assist physicians and nurses in patient care and documentation in EPIC.
• Schedule appointments and handle phone calls and data entry.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Support administrative workflows and patient experience initiatives.
