Job summary

Summit Spine and Joint Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced practice across Georgia locations. Under the supervision of a licensed provider, you will chart in the EMR, assist with referrals, and perform clinical duties while delivering patient-centered care.

Ideal candidates bring experience with EMR systems (EClinical Works preferred), strong communication, and flexibility to travel to multiple clinic sites.

Qualifications

• Experience using EMR systems, preferably EClinical Works.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and training preferred.
• 1 year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records data.
• Records information in the patient chart.
• Reviews medications with patients and charts allergies, surgeries, family history, and past medical history.
• Assists with providing educational information and after-care instructions.
• Gathers documents or signatures necessary to assist the provider in treatment decisions.
• Gathers incoming records and records them in the chart at visit time.
• Uses basic office equipment (phone, fax, scanner, copier).
• Relays clinical orders to the pharmacy via computer, phone or fax.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for each patient.
• Contributes to team effort by achieving related results as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; provides professional patient service.
• Able to multitask and handle other duties as assigned.
• Relays messages to physicians and returns patient calls.
