Job summary

University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to join the Family Medicine team. You will assist clinicians, take vital signs, document complaints and meds, perform EKGs, and support patient care in a compassionate, patient-family centered environment.

This part-time (60% FTE) day-shift role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program required or licensure as LPN or MA Apprenticeship program.
• CCMA certification as a UWH employee or acceptance into MA Apprenticeship Program.
• One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA/RMA/CCMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Join team providing diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, gynecological care, and urgent care.
• Promote healthy lifestyles, wellness, and education.
• Provide quality care in a compassionate, patient-family centered environment.
• Prepare patients for examination, obtain vital signs, document chief complaint, medications, and allergies, perform EKGs and administer medications and treatments.

Education

Completion of accredited medical assistant program

Licensure as LPN

MA Apprenticeship Program completion

CCMA certification (UWH employee)

MA Apprenticeship Accelerated program

1 year MA or LPN experience

Job description

Work Schedule :

Part-time, 60% FTE, day shift position. Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday Between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Current schedule is Tues, Wed and Friday. Hours are based on operational need. No weekends, no holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program Required or
• Licensure as an LPN or
• Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program or
• Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee or
• Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated or
• One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year Required or
• Licensure as an LPN Upon Hire Required
• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification Upon Hire Required
• CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
