Job summary

Honeycomb Management Group in Memphis, TN is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinicians with direct patient care and accurate medical record handling. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered service and collaboration across locations.

Minimum five years of CMA experience is required, along with completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and CMA or RMA certification. A valid driver’s license is also required to travel between sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare medical records for patient exams.
• Assist with patient history, physicals, and in-house procedures.
• Record vital signs and measurements in the patient chart.
• Prepare exam/treatment rooms and maintain cleanliness.
• Monitor supplies and report defective equipment.
• Collect specimens and prepare them for lab analysis.
• Administer treatments and basic procedures as directed.
• Answer calls, relay patient requests, and provide patient education.
• Schedule referrals for treatments and manage emergencies as needed.
• Provide clinical support across multiple site locations.

The MedicalAssistant plays a critical role in assisting healthcare providers withdirect patient care.

Thisposition requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Qualifiedcandidates must possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, communicationskills, organizational skills, and a patient-focused attitude.

Dutiesand Responsibilities:

• Reviews and prepares medical records to ensurecompleteness prior to patient exam, obtaining missing documentation.Documents clinic visit, observations, and related activities.
• Assists with initiation of patient history and physicalassessment. Assist physicians with physical exams and simple in-houseprocedures.
• Checks patient vital signs and takes body measurements,documenting results in patient chart.
• Prepares and maintains exam and treatment rooms,cleaning after patient discharges to ensure a clean and sanitizedenvironment.
• Maintains supplies inventory and ensures patient careequipment is clean and properly functioning, reporting defective equipmentand supplies to supervisor.
• Collects specimens and prepares them for lab andperforms urinalysis on urine specimens. Prepares lab results forphysicians to sign.
• Administers breathing treatments, injections, performsEKGs, etc.
• Answers phone calls, relaying patient requests andquestions to appropriate individuals. Explains provider instructions topatient, as appropriate. Provides teaching to patients and families withinscope of knowledge base.
• Assists with scheduling/referral of patients forspecific treatments.
• Responds to medical emergencies and administers firstaid as appropriate.
• Provide Medical Assistant clinical support for othersite locations as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.

MinimumQualifications:

• High school diploma orequivalent
• Successful completionof an approved Medical Assistant program
• Five (5) years ofexperience as a Certified Medical Assistant
• Medical AssistantCertification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) orfor the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American MedicalTechnologists (AMT)
• Must possess andmaintain a valid driver’s license

PhysicalRequirements:

The physical activities of this position mayinclude climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping,kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance andcoordination. The physical requirements of this position are medium work -exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of forcefrequently. The Medical Assistant is required to have close visualacuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform anactivity, such as assessing patients, and analyzing data and figures;transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. Frequent invasiveand non-invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids as well asexposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
