Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. You will room patients, obtain vital signs, and document in the EMR, while assisting providers and promoting efficient patient flow.

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program and a high school diploma or GED, with at least 1 year of clinical experience. This is a full-time position in Cleveland, OH, with 10% travel and adherence to PHI and UH policies.

A Brief Overview

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

What You Will Do

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs patient centered care delegated by Provider
• Provides a safe environment for patients

Additional Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
