University Hospitals in Hudson, OH seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, and assisting providers to maintain efficient patient flow.

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program and a high school diploma or GED; 1+ year of clinical MA experience is required. CMA and BLS are preferred, with travel up to 10% and no remote work.

Qualifications

Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required.
High school diploma or GED is required.
1+ year of clinical Medical Assistant experience is required.
Certified Medical Assistant preferred; BLS preferred within 90 days.

A Brief Overview

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
Performs patient centered care delegated by Provider
Provides a safe environment for patients

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
