Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant training, certification, or relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience in primary/urgent care, walk-in clinic, or similar medical setting preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records and medical-office software preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and patient registration preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain it.
  • Phlebotomy experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish ability is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable working in both front-office and clinical roles.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients professionally and create a welcoming experience.
  • Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to patient questions.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
  • Register new patients and update demographic information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Collect copayments, deductibles, balances, and self-pay charges.
  • Scan and upload identification cards, insurance cards, and medical documents.
  • Obtain completed patient forms and required signatures.
  • Maintain accurate information in the electronic health record.
  • Communicate patient messages to providers and clinical staff.
  • Assist with medical-record requests, referrals, and administrative tasks.
  • Protect patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
  • Bring patients to examination rooms and prepare them for visits.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, weight, height, medical history, medications, and reason for visit.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Perform point-of-care testing as trained and authorized (strep, flu, COVID-19, pregnancy, glucose, A1C, etc.).
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Administer injections and medications when trained and directed by a provider.
  • Perform EKGs, spirometry, hearing tests, pulse oximetry, and other clinical procedures.
  • Assist with physical examinations (school, sports, DOT-related visits).
  • Prepare examination rooms and restock clinical supplies.
  • Clean and disinfect examination rooms and equipment between patients.
  • Follow infection-control, safety, and OSHA procedures.
  • Track laboratory orders and assist with communicating results.
  • Document clinical information accurately in the EHR.
  • Help providers maintain timely patient flow.
  • Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Community Quick Care is seeking a dependable, friendly, and highly organized Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist who can work effectively in both the front office and clinical areas of our busy medical practice.

This is a true hybrid position. The successful candidate must be comfortable checking patients in and out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting payments, assisting providers, obtaining vital signs, performing clinical tests, and helping maintain an efficient patient flow.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, learns quickly, remains calm in a fast-paced environment, and is willing to help wherever needed.

Primary Responsibilities
Front-Office Responsibilities
  • Greet patients professionally and create a welcoming experience
  • Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently

Schedule

This position requires flexibility to work during Community Quick Care’s operating hours, which may include weekdays and Saturdays. The specific schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
