Job summary

Make You Well in Colleyville, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) with X-ray duties to support our primary care team. You will prepare patients, assist providers, perform X-rays, and document interactions in the chart.

Ideal candidates possess MA training, BLS/CPR, and familiarity with Athena or similar EHRs. This is a full-time, on-site role with regular daytime hours and a patient-centered focus on care and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
• Current Texas Non-Certified Technician (NCT) registration or Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certificate
• Current BLS (CPR) certification
• Caring, professional, and patient with every patient
• Organized, with strong follow-through on patient communication

Responsibilities

• Room patients and take vital signs, height, weight, and medical history
• Document visits accurately in Athena
• Perform X-rays as ordered by the provider and follow radiation safety guidelines
• Give injections and immunizations as delegated by the provider
• Perform point-of-care tests such as glucose, urinalysis, strep, flu, and COVID
• Draw blood and collect lab specimens
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
• Perform EKGs and assist with wound care and dressing changes
• Return patient calls promptly and document every call attempt in the patient’s chart
• Call in prescription refills as directed by providers
• Help with prior authorizations and referrals as needed
• Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain medical and X-ray supplies
• Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines

About the role

The Medical Assistant supports our physician and providers with hands-on patient care and X-ray imaging. You’ll prepare patients for their visits, assist providers, perform X-rays, and help every patient leave feeling informed and cared for. Strong communication and follow-through are key, including returning patient calls promptly and documenting every contact in the patient’s chart.

Preferred qualifications

• 1 or more years of MA experience in primary care, family medicine, or urgent care
• 1 or more years of X-ray experience in a clinic setting
• National MA certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
• Experience with Athena (athenahealth) or another EHR system
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience
