Summary

The Medical Assistant I role involves duties related to patient care and administrative support within a team-based environment. The role aims to ensure a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant I works under the license of a physician or advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following:

• Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience,
• Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting,
• One year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience evaluated case-by-case).

License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. For positions in New Hampshire, a NH Med Tech License or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required.

Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
