Week one:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00am-5:00pm; Friday off

Week two:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 7:00am-5:00pm; Thursday 1pm-5:00pm; Friday 7:00am-5pm

Actual compensation offered in the Pay Range of $21.45 - $32.20 for an MA or $23.65 - $35.50 for an LPN and will be based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience and/or training.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the provision of patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic. Perform various clinical support tasks under supervision to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Prepare and room the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating health information (e.g., chief complaint, allergies, medications).
  • Perform laboratory procedures (e.g., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection) using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
  • Assist the physician/APP with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
  • Administer routine medications under physician/APP orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
  • Provide basic patient instructions, follow through with necessary procedures or tests, and coordinate referrals and appointments.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, team members, and patients to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Perform advanced clinical tasks based on skills and competencies, such as suture removal, catheterization, audiograms, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, etc., under supervision.

Licensure or Certifications:

LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days unless exempted.

MA: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of recent full-time experience as a Medical Assistant.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; good interpersonal and customer service skills; basic keyboarding skills.
  • CPR certification required upon hire or within 60 days; non-certified MAs must obtain certification within one year.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to complete clinic training, work with all personnel levels, handle stressful situations, and perform extended standing and sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds; for heavier lifts, use patient handling equipment with assistance.
