Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Highland Park, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time role. You will greet patients, document vitals, and support front desk operations while maintaining a patient-centered environment.

Some phlebotomy and injections may be required as part of the clinical support. Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or validated by equivalent experience.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred but not required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required; MA certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms.
• Document vitals, allergies, medications, and reason for visit.
• Provide front office support as needed.
• Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight).
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Medical Assistant
• Location: Highland Park, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
• Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-5:30pm, with rotating Saturday 8am-12:30pm

• Required Travel: Travel to other sites based on department needs

What you will do:

• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
