Black Hills Heart & Vascular Institute in Rapid City, SD seeks a motivated Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join a physician-owned cardiovascular practice. This role offers a 4-day work week with no on-call or night shifts, and a supportive, team-oriented environment with a predictable schedule.

The position requires 1–2 years of clinical experience (cardiology preferred) and current MA certification (CMA/RMA) or LPN licensure in SD.

Qualifications

• Current MA certification (CMA or RMA) or LPN licensure in South Dakota.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience, preferably in cardiology or specialty clinic.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records.
• Friendly, patient-centered approach to care.

Responsabilités

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Perform and record electrocardiograms (ECGs).
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical equipment.
• Triage patient phone calls and relay messages to the clinical team.
• Contact patients by phone to deliver test results and follow-up instructions.
• Assist with scheduling procedures, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
• Document patient interactions in the EMR.
• Educate patients on cardiovascular conditions, medications, and follow-up care.
• Assist with prior authorizations and referral coordination as needed.
• Support all aspects of patient care in a small, collaborative practice setting.

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our growing physician-owned cardiovascular practice. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional looking for a supportive, team-oriented environment with a consistent and predictable schedule.

Schedule

• 4-day work week (Full-Time) or Part-Time
• No call required
• No night shifts

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
• Perform and record electrocardiograms (ECGs)
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical equipment
• Triage patient phone calls and relay messages to the clinical team
• Contact patients by phone to deliver test results and follow-up instructions
• Assist with scheduling patients for procedures, referrals, and follow-up appointments
• Accurately document patient interactions in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients on cardiovascular conditions, medications, and follow-up care
• Assist with prior authorizations and referral coordination as needed
• Willingness to assist with all aspects of patient care in a small, collaborative practice setting

Qualifications

• Current MA certification (CMA or RMA) or LPN licensure in the state of South Dakota required
• Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a cardiology or specialty clinic setting
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Proficiency with electronic medical records
• Friendly, patient-centered approach to care
• Hourly wage of $25 to $28 per hour, commensurate with experience and certification
