38603 Advocate Condell Medical Center - Immediate Care Clinic: Round Lake
Status: Full time
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Hours Per Week: 30
Schedule Details/Additional Information: 3 days a week, 1 full weekend every 3rd weekend, 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday.
This position is eligible for up to a $1250 sign-on bonus payable after 90 days of hire (Internals not included)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Assistant is a key member of the patient care team by supporting physicians and other clinicians in the delivery of high-quality health care to ambulatory patients. Medical Assistants are vital to the effective operations of a fast-paced medical practice. They help patients transition into the provider’s office and perform tasks such as:

  • Assist physicians and clinicians with clinical duties including taking medical histories and assisting in physical examinations
  • Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and clinicians
  • Measure patient vital signs
  • Prepare and administer vaccines/medications
  • Document patient information into the electronic health record
  • Collect specimens for testing

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of a medical assistant program or at least two years of verifiable medical assistant experience within the last five years
  • Good communication skills; experience with keyboard and computer use
  • Familiarity with ambulatory care equipment
  • Current AHA CPR certification
  • Ability to travel locally to multiple sites as needed
  • Ability to work under stress and in difficult situations
  • Resilient and adaptable to change
  • Cooperative and team-oriented
  • Ability to make sound, timely decisions and work rotating shifts any day of the week
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients, up to 35 pounds without assistance; for heavier lifts, patient handling equipment and assistance from another staff member are expected

Pay Range: $21.45 - $32.20
