Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians in Columbus seeks a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in outpatient settings. You will work with physicians and nurses to prepare patients, perform routine procedures, and ensure smooth rooming and workflow.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent paired with one of the following: a Medical Assistant program diploma, at least 1 year of medical assisting experience, Military Medic training, EMT-P, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
  • Complete patient interview and history.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
  • May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
  • Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.

1 year medical assisting experience

Purpose

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

  • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
  • Military Medic training OR
  • EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
Preferences
  • Medical Assistant Certification

Pay Range
