The position may float among clinics within AMG, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Women’s Health, with schedule variety from 7:00am to 6:30pm and eligibility for a float pool

Qualifications

• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 45 days if required by department lead.
• GED or HS Equivalency Diploma required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable MA experience within last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

We’re Looking For

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
• GED or HS Equivalency Diploma
• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

What You’ll Do

Schedule: Schedule availability should range from 7:00am - 6:30pm. Start and end times are anytime within those hours, however, most shifts are scheduled from 8:00am - 4:30pm or 8:30am - 5:00pm. This position is also eligible for a float Pool Differential - $2.00. Must have reliable transportation.

As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

• Sinai Family Care Center - 1020 N 12th St
• Sinai Internal Medicine - 1020 N 12th St

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.
• Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
• Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids. Will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
