Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Charlotte, NC, for a full-time 40-hour week. Clinic hours are 7am-5pm, with a pay range of $21.85-$32.80 per hour. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, patient history, and support for procedures and lab work.

Qualifications include a Medical Assistant program completion or equivalent, high school diploma, BLS, and proficiency with EMR systems. Benefits eligible with comprehensive rewards are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform routine and complex medical assistant tasks within the scope of practice as trained.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
• Proficient in using EMR systems and basic computer operations.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming and visit tasks: vital signs, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab-related duties, including venipuncture and specimen handling.
• Performs Point of Care testing (POCT) per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely per medication administration rights.
• Supports scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations as needed.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures supplies are stocked and equipment functional.
