Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist providers in patient care across clinical areas, including examinations, procedures, and dressing changes, in line with regulatory standards and policies.

Position follows Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with duties spanning chart prep, rooming, vital signs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, immunizations, and medication management under supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED required and one of the following: Graduate from an accredited MA Program; Graduate from an MA Training Program with externship; 1 year of relevant healthcare experience with formal training (LNA, EMT, Combat Medic); 1 year prior experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Experience: 1 year of relevant healthcare exp. (can include externship), 1-2 years exp. in a clinical ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: Must possess BLS authorization upon 90 days of employment and maintain during employment. CMA, RMA or CCMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs visit chart preparation activities based on the daily scheduled appointments including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries and consult/PCP reports.
• Performs rooming activities for provider visits according to documented rooming criteria.
• Obtains and documents age-specific measurements including vital signs, height, weight, and more.
• Conducts and documents hearing, vision, respiratory and ECG testing.
• Performs screening based on condition/need including depression and asthma.
• Obtains, documents and processes specimens and performs venipuncture as needed.
• Administers medications and immunizations and handles prescription refills.
• Manages prior authorization processes and clinical supplies.

Education

At least 3 years' experience as Medical Assistant
