Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to support clinical operations in a Dunedin, FL practice. You will assist providers, prepare patients, and help maintain workflow efficiency onsite.

The role emphasizes patient care, documentation in the EMR, and adherence to OSHA/CLIA standards. A High School diploma and MA training are required or preferred; licensure flexibility is noted for MA, EMT, NREMT, Paramedic, or LPN.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related training preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant within 6 months of hire OR active license as EMT/NREMT/Paramedic/LPN.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Obtain patient histories and prepare patients for visits.
• Perform routine lab procedures and prepare specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follow up on test orders and communicate results to providers and patients.
• Maintain patient education materials and EMR records.
• Maintain medical equipment and clinical supplies; ensure OSHA/CLIA compliance.

🏥 Facility: BayCare Health System, Mease Med Arts 2-BMG

🕒 Shift: Days | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (hours may vary)

📅 Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite

📄 Status: Non-Exempt

📆 Weekend Work: None

📞 On Call: No

Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant or LPN, you will support clinical operations by assisting providers and delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient workflows within the practice.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Obtaining patient histories and preparing patients for visits
• Performing routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the lab
• Following up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patients
• Maintaining patient education materials
• Creating and updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Maintaining medical equipment and clinical supplies
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education

:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training

Licensure / Certification

Required

:

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following:
• EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
• NREMT (Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician)
• Paramedic
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
