University Health at UH Lakewood Medical Center in Lakewood is seeking a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time role in the Specialty Clinic. The position runs 7:30AM–5:00PM, 40 hours/week, and focuses on preparing patients, clinical tasks, EMR updates, and patient education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification CMA/RMA/NRCMA/CCMA required at time of hire and maintained.
• BLS certification required before starting.
• Knowledge of POCT, Immunizations, and Injections.
• Strong problem-solving and quick-thinking ability.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Customer service oriented and able to put patients at ease.
• Tech-savvy with EMR systems and MS Office tools.
• Radiology certification if X-ray functions are required.

Responsibilities

• Prep charts, take vitals, and set the stage for care.
• Administer meds, administer immunizations, collect specimens, assist with minor procedures.
• Maintain patient records in EMR accurately.
• Support providers and participate in team huddles.
• Educate patients on treatments and follow-up care.
• Provide nursing care under RN supervision (LPN duties).
• Assess, document, and ensure safe care per standards.
