HealthPartners North Suburban Family Physicians has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant (LPN/CMA/RMA/EMT) to join our team! This casual position will be based at our Roseville clinic with potential for coverage at our Lino Lakes and Hugo clinics.
This casual position involves picking up shifts Monday - Friday between 6:30am and 6:15pm. Initial training will require 3-4 days per week, with the duration depending on experience. Post-training, a minimum of 2 days per week availability is needed, between 6am and 6pm.
The Medical Assistants are responsible for various duties including:
Patient Care Support
- Rooming patients according to guidelines.
- Recording vital signs and physical measurements.
- Administering medications and procedures as authorized and documented.
- Reviewing charts for relevant information.
- Providing educational materials and maintaining confidentiality.
- Seeking assistance for acutely ill or changing condition patients.
- Preparing exam and treatment rooms.
- Assisting providers during examinations and procedures.
- Preparing charts and maintaining records, including MSRs, lab forms, and drug refills.
- Facilitating communication within the clinic, relaying messages and test results accurately.
Infection Control and Equipment Maintenance
- Preparing and sterilizing instruments.
- Cleaning work areas and documenting compliance.
- Implementing infection control procedures and using protective clothing.
Clinic Supplies Management
- Processing inventory requests and managing supplies.
- Checking deliveries and preparing returns.
- Ensuring supplies are stocked and expired items are replaced.
Equipment Maintenance
- Maintaining an inventory of instruments and equipment.
- Calibrating and documenting maintenance.
Additional Requirements
- Maintaining current accreditation status and informing supervisors of changes.
- Working at any clinic based on need.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- For LPN: Accredited nursing program graduate and active Minnesota LPN license.
- For MA: Accredited MA or EMT program graduate with current license.
- For RMA: Accredited MA graduate with current registration (AAMA or AMT).
- For CMA: Accredited MA graduate with current certification (AAMA or AMT).
- Current BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration.
- Recent (within 3 years) direct patient care experience.
- Computer skills.
