Job Summary

Under management and physician leadership, performs clinical activities including maintaining patient flow, assisting in primary and preventive healthcare, and performing technical procedures under physician/provider direction. The Medical Assistant III supports office efficiency, patient care, and embodies the "Service First" philosophy to ensure customer satisfaction.

Scope of Work
  1. Assist physicians/providers with primary healthcare and patient management.
  2. Collaborate with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
  3. Coordinate with outside healthcare facilities regarding patient care and insurance.
  4. Maintain competencies and communicate about processes and workflows to leadership and accreditation bodies.
  5. Perform front office duties as needed.
  6. Provide coverage in other departments or locations as required.
  7. Demonstrate excellent customer service and support patient/family-centered care.
  8. Perform additional responsibilities, dedicating at least 20% of time, such as:
  • Identifying care gaps, outreach, chart prep
  • Residency clinic role
  • High-level disinfection
  • Preceptor duties
  • Participate/lead in programs/grants (e.g., CPC Plus, SIM, Vaccine programs)
  • Care management (PDCMs)
  • Language interpretation
  • Super User for EPIC or other systems
  • Support complex procedures or scheduling
  • Multi-site/flexible float pool
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of accredited MA program or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year MA experience or equivalent (including internships/apprenticeships).
  • Preferred 2-3 years MA experience.
  • CPR/BLS certification (AHA or ARC) upon hire.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, LPN) preferred.
