Job summary

JCMG in Jefferson City, MO is seeking a Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse to support pediatric patients in our ambulatory clinic. The role combines clinical duties with basic administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care.

The successful candidate will have MA and/or LPN training, a willingness to work on-site, and a commitment to safety and patient-centered care. BCLS certification or plan to obtain within 3 months is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred but not required.
• Graduate from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• BCLS certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Prefer MA or LPN experience in ambulatory care setting.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Specific Competencies:

• Admits patients to the clinic bay and assists the physician and/or nurse to provide physical care for the patient before, during, and after examinations and procedures.
• Performs routine clerical activities required for efficient operation of the ambulatory clinic.
• Provides appropriate safety and infection control measures.
• Appropriately utilizes facility communication and information systems and equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Experience

• Prefer previous experience as an MA/ LPN in the ambulatory care setting, but not required.

Certification/License

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in heated and air-conditioned area; may be exposed to infectious material and contagious conditions including exposure to patient body fluids, including blood and contaminated sharps; potential for exposure to hazardous disinfecting chemicals; must follow universal precautions and utilize personal protective equipment.
