Position Summary: The lead medical assistant performs clinical and administrative duties under the direction of the physician and within your scope of practice to assist in the examination and treatment of patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be positive, helpful, friendly, supportive, sincere, and genuine to all patients, physicians, and staff.
- Be attentive and responsive to doctors’ and/or practice administrator/team leader requests in a timely manner.
- Be punctual and regular in attendance.
- Follow all office policies and procedures.
- Make decisions that reflect the best interests of Heart One Associates and providing quality patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality as governed by the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Maintain efficient patient flow and quality care during clinic hours.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and medical staff, providing excellent customer service and always maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Serve as a role model/team plyer with a positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
- Monitor and track time and attendance in accordance with HOA policies and procedures.
- Ability to manage staffing requirements, prioritize and coordinate work to complete duties in and accurate and timely manner.
- Oversees adequate supplies and maintain inventory.
- May assist with onboarding and training new team members/externs.
- Answers telephones and assists patients, triaging calls as necessary.
- Must possess the ability to multitask.
- Must possess the ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Perform other duties assigned by manager
- Must be able to perform all duties of a Medical Assistant.
- Oversees providers messages/encounters and ensure tasks are answered in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform quality controls on Cholestech machines on a scheduled basis.
- Cross cover as needed for lunch/sick/vacation coverage as requested by Manager
- Assist with medication refills, messages, and patient call backs.
Requirements
Dress Code: Black Scrubs and closed toe shoes
Education and Experience:
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Minimum 2-years recent cardiology experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms
- Working knowledge of 12-lead EKGs
- Knowledge of Holter/Event monitors
- Knowledge of Coagucheck monitor and protime adjustment.
- Working knowledge with computers
