Job Opportunity: Medical Assistant at UPMC Lakeside Family Medicine

Are you a Medical Assistant interested in a career with growth opportunities? UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant Senior to join Lakeside Family Medicine in Meadville, PA.

Position Details:

  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • Responsibilities include back office and front office duties.
  • Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Salary and job title will be based on experience and education, according to the Medical Assistant Career Ladder.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  2. Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, and complete necessary forms. Schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and manage patient charts.
  3. Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments, and maintain infection control standards.
  4. Organize patient flow, assist patients with transfers and procedures, and collect patient information and vitals.
  5. Answer calls, provide patient education, and perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic lab procedures.
  6. Comply with regulatory requirements and maintain confidentiality.
  7. Administer injectable medications and vaccines under supervision, as appropriate.
