Medical Assistant (Lakeside Family Medicine)

Position Overview

UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant Senior to join Lakeside Family Medicine in Meadville, PA. The role offers growth opportunities, excellent benefits, and a schedule of Monday through Friday, primarily daylight hours from 8am to 4:30pm, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Responsibilities include both back office and front office duties, with prior Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Obtain and process lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals, and complete necessary forms. Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient charts.
  • Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments, and maintain infection control standards. Manage inventory of supplies.
  • Coordinate patient flow, assist patients with procedures, and collect patient information including vitals and screenings.
  • Answer calls, provide patient education, and perform procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic labs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and state health regulations. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to UPMC policies.
  • Under supervision, administer injectable medications and vaccines as appropriate.
Qualifications
Medical Assistant
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and clinical responsibilities.
Medical Assistant Senior
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant program, certification, or at least 1 year of patient care experience.
  • Proficiency in practice-specific tasks and basic computer and medical knowledge.
Licensure and Certifications
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances or renewals.
